Part of the Baylor Scott & White Health family, Baylor Scott & White Health Plan began operations in January 1982 and now covers nearly 500,000 members, with a service area covering 171 counties in North, Central and West Texas.
By integrating the delivery of high-quality care with affordable coverage for that care, we're able to provide both to you in a single system. With the union of Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare in 2013, we built a single group committed to innovation, focused on collaboration, and dedicated to full transparency between provider and payer. But we didn't stop there.
In the spirit of continually improving care and access for Texans, we acquired FirstCare Health Plans in 2019. Together, this expanded the reach of doctors, hospitals and post-acute facilities to even more communities across Texas.
Every day, the doctors, hospitals, clinics and the health insurance plan work in unison to meet the needs of patients and health plan members.
