What is changing?
After careful consideration, Baylor Scott & White Health Plan (BSWHP) notified regulators of its intent to discontinue Individual & Family Marketplace plans after Dec. 31, 2026. We are committed to helping make this transition go as smoothly as possible.
- Nothing changes today — your current coverage remains in place through the end of your enrollment period.
- Your care remains our priority. Your provider is here to support you and can answer questions about your treatment.
- For coverage questions, the health plan's call center can help — the number is on the back of your insurance card.
-
When will this change happen?
The Health Plan will discontinue Individual & Family Marketplace plans after Dec. 31, 2026.
Your current coverage and access to care remain in place through the end of your coverage period. There will be no change to your coverage, benefits or services through Dec. 31, 2026.

What should I do if I am covered by a Baylor Scott & White Health Plan Individual & Family Marketplace plan?
You should choose a new health plan during the Annual Open Enrollment period, which runs Nov. 1-Dec. 15, 2026. We encourage you to review all materials carefully when you receive them.
-
Will my medications or ongoing treatments be interrupted?
Our goal is to minimize disruption as best we can. Health plans have processes in place to help members continue prescriptions and ongoing treatment for certain conditions when they change plans. We recommend the following:
- Keep a list of your medications and providers
- Ask your new health plan about your benefits, network, prescription coverage and transition policies
- Schedule appointments as needed once your new coverage begins.
-
How does this impact Baylor Scott & White patients?
Baylor Scott & White Health will continue to accept Individual & Family Marketplace plans. Before enrolling in a new plan, be sure to check that your provider is in network.
Baylor Scott & White Health patients can find a list of in-network providers on the Baylor Scott & White Health accepted insurance page.
-
How do I know if my doctor will be covered by my new health plan?
We recommend you check with your new health plan to confirm if your doctor is in their network.
-
How and when can I change my plan?
Individual & Family Marketplace plan members can change plans during the Annual Open Enrollment period, which runs Nov. 1-Dec. 15, 2026. To make a change, log into the federal Health Insurance Marketplace at Healthcare.gov.
-
What if I have an appointment or procedure with my provider scheduled after Jan. 1, 2027?
We recommend you check with your new health plan to confirm if your doctor is in their network.
-
What if I have a medical emergency after my coverage ends?
If you experience a medical emergency, you should always visit the nearest emergency department.
